They say people meet by chance. But I am a firm believer that our paths and connections are meant to happen. Yes fate, karma whatever that means to you. The Universe and God have a funny way of making sure to give you what you need at the right time. This is the case with my amazing couple and sweet friends Margaret & John. Shortly after the Pandemic they lost their wedding photographer leaving them to start back at square one. Not exactly how you’d like things to go when planning a wedding right? Not to mention doing so after the world has stopped. When Margaret reached out, she explained her story and after a Starbucks Coffee date we knew that it was the start of a beautiful relationship.
We sat on the patio on a breezy early spring morning and after 10 minutes of listening to them both, catching glimpses of their adoration between one another, John’s dry sense of humour and a ridiculous amount of laughter…I knew their wedding day was going to be pretty epic. And here’s how it unfolded…
Getting ready photos were done at Ajax Hilton, First Look was done at Parkwood Estates in Oshawa. Followed by Refreshments and Intermission at one of John’s amazing Pubs: Bollock’s Pub in Oshawa. He owns a few more locations and if you’ve never been, I highly recommend you do so. The Pub intermission was pretty awesome and unheard-of on a wedding day. I must admit we absolutely loved the 30 min break to sit and hydrate. We were under strict orders to relax from our bride and groom. I mean…how thoughtful right? It was sentimental for them both and of course we had to have a shot outside before we went in.
Margaret you are stunning! John…that colour of suit was SUCH a nice change from the ordinary. Well done ;) You guys are one of a kind and compliment one another so well.
This day was full of so many amazing people, services and vendors. An incredible job done by

Margaret’s sweet big sister Liz was her right hand throughout the entire day. Thank you Liz for all your help. . It’s clear to see how much you both love one another.
Such a FUN jam packed day we had. Margaret, your attention to detail and organizational skills are killer girl. I do love me a well organized bride and groom lol. . The laugher, the tears and the singing out loud after a few beers was so fun to document. I also wanted to send out a huge thanks to Jolene for all your help that day. Love ya sister, till next time!

Your love story may have started many years ago but your new chapter has only begun. Congratulations Margaret, John and Cyrena. I am so excited to see what lies ahead for you three. Congratulations mom, if you’ve just had your baby, be it your first or if you are expanding your family…well done! Now comes the work. :) Motherhood is so amazing. It will leave you speechless, exhausted and full of so much love for this little one that you’d do anything for them.
At the same time, Motherhood is also messy. As much as you plan for it, sometimes the unexpected arrises during their stages of growth that leave you exhausted and emotional. Speaking from someone who went through bad postpartum depression and years of meds. Fast forward a little… years ago a beautiful essential oil was introduced to me (well after mine had grown out of the baby stage) but I started using it during my Photography sessions and sharing it with my clients. I had a ton of messages and calls once they used it thanking me for saving their sanity lol.
Gentle Baby is a Blended oil is just that, single oils are mixed together to create a blend. Gentle Baby was designed specifically for expectant mothers and newborn babies. It’s comforting, soothing and relaxing. Helpful during pregnancy, birth and once baby arrives.

I wish I had this when my children were babies.. All those sleepless nights, pacing the house while rocking my baby to take away any discomfort and the stress could have been eliminated.
Since essential oils are so concentrated, a super easy way for moms to take them on the go is to create little rollerballs to use anywhere at any time. Gentle Baby (and any oil) can be mixed with a carrier oil (ie: jojoba, coconut, grape seed or V6 oil from Young Living) .

I met Narm and Spencer back in 2021 when they came in for their Maternity session. You may remember seeing it here.. Such a gorgeous and loving shoot. We met again when their beautiful baby boy turned 6 months for his Baby Milestone session. Time FLIES mama it’s SO crazy. Narm and Spencer invited me to their home to celebrate a cake smash session with their immediate family. Check it out below. Gorgeous decor and these tones were my love language :)
Narm rented a sweet backdrop for Danin’s cake smash session and had all their favourite family members present. Such a great fun afternoon, full of love and laughter. Little Dainin, didn’t care too much about the cake but sure had fun. Special thanks to Bubble n Bloom, Amore Decor, Velvet Lane Cakes and Cool Green and Shady for all their help that day.
In all of my 17 years experience, babies typically go one way or the other when it comes to Cake Smashes. They either love it or aren’t too keen on getting hands dirty lol. However..they almost ALWAYS love it when mama gives them a taste to start. Clearly Dainin had no trouble digging in (that facial expression tho lol)

Tamara & Jon's Wedding Love story: Toronto Wedding Photography
A little story about Tamara and Jon. Also sounds like (a little ditty bout Jack and Diane lo) jk…I met these two crazy love birds back in early 2022. We had just come out of the never ending Pandemic and spoke over a zoom call. I knew right away how much fun we would have at their wedding.

We planned a beach engagement session and met at the Bluffs on a very humid later afternoon. Sandy toes, side splitting laughs, and at the end sweat running down our brows and excited to see what we created together.
Fast forward to their wedding day. Another STUNNER of a day for Tamara and Jon. Here’s a sneak peak of their beautiful and FUN day!
Planning a wedding is stressful enough. There is a lot to do. I get it. Been there :) However if I can offer a little piece of advice…remember to have fun. Stressing over every single detail leaves you unable to enjoy and be present. Love and let go. After all, just look into your partner’s eyes and know that everything will be perfect when you have each other.
Tamara and Jon, thank you so much for having myself and Hilary document your Wedding Day. It was such a blast. You’re chemistry and love for one another is one of a kind. Any fool can see that. Telling your love story was so easy to do when a love like yours is so clear to see. Cheers to you guys!

Creating calm Baby Milestone Sessions: Oshawa Baby Photography Studio

Hope you’ve had a great week so far? Does anyone else feel like time is flying by but yet winter is still dragging on? Missing the sunshine desperately and I’d be lying if I didn’t do a little dance every time it pops out haaa. Although one way I’ve been keeping my mood and emotions in check is with a lot of support from Young Living. A lot of deep inhaling has been going on these days… :) If you’ve been here for a while you know that I started sharing YL to our Motherhood session and everyday life. It’s part of our daily routine around here, nothing new. But something I knew YOU and your littles would love to learn about too.

Speaking of scents, one of my fav’s to use with Baby Milestone sessions is Lavender. Calming, soothing, relaxes fussy or anxious babies (and nervous moms) It’s usually in the diffuser in studio and I like to wear a little too. It helps create an environment that everyone enjoys being in.
Plus…happy baby, happy mama = happy photographer :)

Have you ever experienced lavender? Real lavender? It’s such a complex beautiful smell. One of my bucket list’s is to travel to France and experience a Lavender farm. Another fun fact…Lavender is considered the Swiss Army of oils. Which is pretty fascinating knowing that this super oil helps you and your family in so many ways.
Sleep, healing, great for the skin, digestion and of course soothes the mind, body and soul. Just to name a few things it helps support the body with.
You and your baby’s experience in the studio matter to me. Helping to calm the nerves with you both so you are excited to create memories is what we pride ourselves in. Come in for the portraits and memories, stay a little for a serene experience that will fill your senses and heart.

Mother's Day 2022: Oshawa Motherhood Baby Portrait Studio Photographer
We have two annual events that we offer mini sessions for. Both are our favourites and celebrate the magic of motherhood and your family. This past Mother’s Day was one of them and it was nothing shy of awesome. Thank you to all the mama’s and littles who joined us. Our favourite partners joined us again this year. Aspen Florist created a stunning fresh floral scene for your Motherhood mini session.

Aspen Florist created a stunning fresh floral scene for your Motherhood mini session. Our gorgeous mamas were also treated to Durham’s famous sugar cookies from Danielle Petrik Sweetery. Lucky for them to dine on the last of her baking for a while as we lost Danielle and her beautiful business to the Corporate world. We wish you all the best Danielle, we will certainly miss you! We also loved that Meredith from Makeup with Mer pampered our mamas too! They looked and felt gorgeous! Thanks once again Mer!
Okay…taking a moment to address these stunning blooms David Austin Wedding Roses, Dahlia’s and Ruscus for greenery. Aspen Florist you spoil us so ( but we LOVE it!)
Peach, coral, creams and soft pastels mixes with greenery was our colour palette this past year. A summer garden arbour was designed in studio and smelled heavenly. I am not going to lie, every mama who came in for their session let out a huge gasp when they saw the set. I am always in awe of the WOW factor she creates every single time.
I hear all too often from our clients that they wish they had portraits of themselves with their children. I am here to tell you not to wait. Just do it! The “right time” never really comes around and before you know it…the stage that you love about them RIGHT NOW, has passed.
You know the old saying, a shoemaker doesn’t have any nice shoes…well same goes for this photographer mama. Although I have photographs of my children, I wish that I had taken my own advice and jumped in front of the camera and been present more. Yes it was a different time, the digital age was JUST starting out and I was not a photographer back then.
Please do this for your future self. She will LOVE that you’ve done so.
