Hi my name Is Petra and I am a Motherhood and Milestone Photographer. ;) I’ve been documenting milestones and marriages for 17.5 years. That is crazy to say for me to say out loud.. But I never get tired of doing what I do and am absolutely honoured to share life’s most important milestones with you and my amazing business partner’s.
This summer we celebrated an adorable baby girls 1st birthday with a gorgeous florals for her cake smash session.

That million dollar question…when should I come in for my baby’s milestone session? I get asked this on the weekly so I thought a little blog post would help clarify a few things for mom and dad’s.
That million dollar question…when should I come in for my baby’s milestone session? I get asked this on the weekly so I thought a little blog post would help clarify a few things for mom and dad’s.
So a few things when looking to book your baby milestone session with us. First of all…think ahead. Baby’s grow at a crazy speed lol. What is it you are looking for? Gorgeous portraits that focus on the little details? Documenting the way they sit and concentrate on every single detail? Their personality?
Next think about how you are going to use these photographs? Keepsakes? Updating your walls? Gifting? Photographs are meant to be printed and displayed. You/we go through a lot of planning and work to create and document these memories for you and your family. Don’t keep them on a hard drive/computer or phone. Print those babies out!
Looking back in 3-6 or 9 months time you’ll be like…omg I totally forgot she used to say uh oh when toys fell on the floor :) Trust me..digitals get LOST in a sea of others. Your future mama self will be thankful that you decided to print and display these memories.
Figure out that sweet spot and what matters to YOU. Let’s get your session on the books so there’s no stress or worry about “missing out” due to our busy studio schedule. Because before you know it…the stages and things your little one does will be gone. There’s no butt’s about it :)

Hope you’ve had a great week so far? Does anyone else feel like time is flying by but yet winter is still dragging on? Missing the sunshine desperately and I’d be lying if I didn’t do a little dance every time it pops out haaa. Although one way I’ve been keeping my mood and emotions in check is with a lot of support from Young Living. A lot of deep inhaling has been going on these days… :) If you’ve been here for a while you know that I started sharing YL to our Motherhood session and everyday life. It’s part of our daily routine around here, nothing new. But something I knew YOU and your littles would love to learn about too.

Speaking of scents, one of my fav’s to use with Baby Milestone sessions is Lavender. Calming, soothing, relaxes fussy or anxious babies (and nervous moms) It’s usually in the diffuser in studio and I like to wear a little too. It helps create an environment that everyone enjoys being in.
Plus…happy baby, happy mama = happy photographer :)

Pretty cool right? I am sure you’ve experienced that many a times in your life.
Have you ever experienced lavender? Real lavender? It’s such a complex beautiful smell. One of my bucket list’s is to travel to France and experience a Lavender farm. Another fun fact…Lavender is considered the Swiss Army of oils. Which is pretty fascinating knowing that this super oil helps you and your family in so many ways.
Sleep, healing, great for the skin, digestion and of course soothes the mind, body and soul. Just to name a few things it helps support the body with.
You and your baby’s experience in the studio matter to me. Helping to calm the nerves with you both so you are excited to create memories is what we pride ourselves in. Come in for the portraits and memories, stay a little for a serene experience that will fill your senses and heart.

A French Connection
Rewind to 2021 when my path crossed with the loving and very thoughtful Anne- Sophie. She had inquired about a maternity session all the way from Paris France! How cool is that? Her life long best friend lives in Toronto and she was expecting her first child. Anne-Sophie wanted to gift her with an experience she could cherish forever. But like all the previous 2020/2021 sessions before them we sadly had to postpone.
Introducing Nora…
Mum Helene and Dad Bob brought sweet Nora into the studio to celebrate a baby session instead. Nora was 3 months at this time and a total doll.
Sweet Nora oh how you are loved. As you can tell, she adored being held. She also loved a good conversation too. So sweet…
I fell in love with their dynamics, their excitement and how completely smitten they are with their daughter. Congratulations Helene and Bob, she is gorgeous!
Thank you Anne-Sophie for allowing them to come in and document this beautiful milestone together (even if it was delayed).
These memories they will have forever and pass down to Nora when she is older.

Baby Milestone- Leo
Meet Leo,
His stunning mama and dad came in to celebrate his arrival after we reopened from yet another province wide lockdown. A couple Maternity session was our initial booking. Since we couldn’t get that done we waited till Leo was a little bigger. Mom and dad are from Brazil and had planned to head south for 3 months to be with family. So we made sure to get a baby session in for them all prior to.
This little guy was so alert and cuddly. Loved hanging out with his mama but I could already tell that he was a daddy’s boy ;)
I mean…just look at that adorable gummy smile with Daddy. Soooo cute.
Thank you David, Livia and Leo for hanging out in the studio with me that day. I had an amazing time chatting with you and giggling at Leo’s amazing personality and expressions.

She's one year's old!
I seriously love my job! No…like seriously love it! Especially when it connects me to such amazing people who have little people that are equally as amazing. ;)
This little pudding’ is Audrey. She came in for her 1st Birthday celebration with her big sister. If you ever wonder what our Baby sessions are like, think of fun, snack breaks, speed and silliness. From time to time there are they shy ones too. But rest assured we take the time to let baby adjust to new surroundings.
Dance, Play, Pout, be sassy, throw tantrums and scream…ya know..the usual. And then in comes big sissy asking for hugs and kisses.
Of course we couldn’t miss the opportunity to capture this gorgeous girl. Meet sweet big sister Emery. The most adorable smile and so kind hearted. This girl is going places I tell ya.
She showed off some dance moves and her free spirited nature. I mean…soooo cute!
These two little ones had a blast. But what killed me was the poses and dancing we got from Audrey at the end of her session. Cause ya know…snacks are life right?
Look at that cheesy grin. Haaa…I think she was smelling it.
