Carley & Jacob's Fall Wedding: GTA Bowmanville Wedding Photographer
At the risk of sounding like a broken record I freaking love my job and these next two beautiful people. I met Carley and Jacob in the fall of 2021 at their engagement session. Okay okay, it was Carley, Jacob and their sweet Cockapoo Piper. You may remember their session here. Fast forward to the Fall of October 2022 and we had ourselves one hell of a day we will all remember!
Their story began in University and the rest is history. Carley is a gorgeous fun, sporty, energetic and hilarious woman and Jacob is the quiet, easy going and simple guy who adores Carley, loves a good beer and wings and of course Hockey.
A beautiful Fall day, overcast and moody skies were the perfect pairing for the rich jewel tones and fall foliage.
Carley’s Wedding Florist (Aspen Florist) did a stunning job. Her work always leaves the viewer entranced with the delicate intricacy of the most gorgeous blooms.
They nailed it with getting ready photos and stunning locations to do so. It really does make a difference in the look and feel of your wedding day photos. I just adored the natural light and magazine worthy bathroom that Carley and her maids got ready in. It was a dream! Jacob and his guys had a super cool, bright and spacious loft to work with that was right off Lake Ontario. The diversity we were able to get that morning made me so giddy!
Here is a recap of Carley and Jacob’s big day. Carley had a first look that was a first for me…no it wasn’t with Jacob, but her sweet fur baby Piper lol. Sooo cute. Check out her expressions.
Carley & Jacob, thank you for your kindness. For your love and trust. It goes beyond an honour to document milestones like these for my clients. Knowing that these memories and photographs we shared and created together will be cherished for a lifetime. Welcome to the PKP and Aspen Florist family. We can’t wait to see where life takes you next.
Special thanks to Hilary for your help assisting, Aspen Florist for your gorgeous blooms and to all of Carley’s girls for your help to make it the amazing day it was. You guys rock!

Lauren & Trent's Engagement: Greater Toronto Area Engagement Photographer
That million dollar question…when should I come in for my baby’s milestone session? I get asked this on the weekly so I thought a little blog post would help clarify a few things for mom and dad’s.
Meeting Lauren and Trent was so much fun. Their engagement session was scheduled for a beautiful crisp fall evening at one of our favourite conservation areas in Bowmanville. There are 2 entrances to this conservation park and guess who pulled into the wrong one? :) It happens, I was close enough to whip around the corner and pull into the parking lot. There I was waving to them while chatting on the phone to Lauren and unbuckling my seat belt. Haaa quite the scene I tell ya.
Engagement sessions are a great way to get yourself comfortable in front of the camera before your wedding day. Almost all of my couples are used to pictures being done on the phone but not a Professional Photoshoot. Just ask Lauren and Trent…the first thing we do is chat, laugh, walk and have fun. I knew that when Trent’s personality and true colours came out that it was going to be an amazing and fun shoot!
Lauren had a perma grin on the whole time. I loved their dynamics and sense of humour. Trent, I want to see that catwalk at your wedding :)
All jokes aside, the love between this sweet couple was so clear. He’s so smitten with you Lauren it’s so heartwarming to see.
Fall engagement photos never fail me. The colours, tones, fleeting warm days and cool evenings make for the perfect setting to capture young love.
SO excited to celebrate your beautiful wedding this coming October with you both. Countdown has officially begun!

Margaret & John's Love Story: Whitby Ajax Wedding Photography
They say people meet by chance. But I am a firm believer that paths and connections are meant to happen. The Universe and God have a funny way of making sure to give you what you need at the right time. Thus is the case with my amazing couple and sweet friends Margaret & John
They say people meet by chance. But I am a firm believer that our paths and connections are meant to happen. Yes fate, karma whatever that means to you. The Universe and God have a funny way of making sure to give you what you need at the right time. This is the case with my amazing couple and sweet friends Margaret & John. Shortly after the Pandemic they lost their wedding photographer leaving them to start back at square one. Not exactly how you’d like things to go when planning a wedding right? Not to mention doing so after the world has stopped. When Margaret reached out, she explained her story and after a Starbucks Coffee date we knew that it was the start of a beautiful relationship.
We sat on the patio on a breezy early spring morning and after 10 minutes of listening to them both, catching glimpses of their adoration between one another, John’s dry sense of humour and a ridiculous amount of laughter…I knew their wedding day was going to be pretty epic. And here’s how it unfolded…
Getting ready photos were done at Ajax Hilton, First Look was done at Parkwood Estates in Oshawa. Followed by Refreshments and Intermission at one of John’s amazing Pubs: Bollock’s Pub in Oshawa. He owns a few more locations and if you’ve never been, I highly recommend you do so. The Pub intermission was pretty awesome and unheard-of on a wedding day. I must admit we absolutely loved the 30 min break to sit and hydrate. We were under strict orders to relax from our bride and groom. I mean…how thoughtful right? It was sentimental for them both and of course we had to have a shot outside before we went in.
Margaret you are stunning! John…that colour of suit was SUCH a nice change from the ordinary. Well done ;) You guys are one of a kind and compliment one another so well.
This day was full of so many amazing people, services and vendors. An incredible job done by
Hair & Makeup: Katie Lyne hair & Makeup and of course our favourite and best Wedding Florist Aspen Florist
Margaret’s sweet big sister Liz was her right hand throughout the entire day. Thank you Liz for all your help. . It’s clear to see how much you both love one another.
Such a FUN jam packed day we had. Margaret, your attention to detail and organizational skills are killer girl. I do love me a well organized bride and groom lol. . The laugher, the tears and the singing out loud after a few beers was so fun to document. I also wanted to send out a huge thanks to Jolene for all your help that day. Love ya sister, till next time!
Margaret & John…
Your love story may have started many years ago but your new chapter has only begun. Congratulations Margaret, John and Cyrena. I am so excited to see what lies ahead for you three. Thank you for having Jolene and myself document your big day. It was one for the books full of so many memories. Cheers to you and see soon.
Love, Happieness and lots of laughter!

Tamara & Jon's Wedding Love story: Toronto Wedding Photography
A little story about Tamara and Jon. Also sounds like (a little ditty bout Jack and Diane lo) jk…I met these two crazy love birds back in early 2022. We had just come out of the never ending Pandemic and spoke over a zoom call. I knew right away how much fun we would have at their wedding.

We planned a beach engagement session and met at the Bluffs on a very humid later afternoon. Sandy toes, side splitting laughs, and at the end sweat running down our brows and excited to see what we created together.
Fast forward to their wedding day. Another STUNNER of a day for Tamara and Jon. Here’s a sneak peak of their beautiful and FUN day!
Planning a wedding is stressful enough. There is a lot to do. I get it. Been there :) However if I can offer a little piece of advice…remember to have fun. Stressing over every single detail leaves you unable to enjoy and be present. Love and let go. After all, just look into your partner’s eyes and know that everything will be perfect when you have each other.
Tamara and Jon, thank you so much for having myself and Hilary document your Wedding Day. It was such a blast. You’re chemistry and love for one another is one of a kind. Any fool can see that. Telling your love story was so easy to do when a love like yours is so clear to see. Cheers to you guys!
Wishing you a lifetime of love and happiness. All the best and till we meet again!
Petra

An Intimate Tropical Backyard Wedding
I have been dying to share this blog entry with you guys. Working away over here to get caught up from the backlog over the last 18-22 months. So a huge thank you to you guys and all our amazing vendors. I am thankful for your patience!
Natalie & Aly are married ya’ll!
Okay let’s rewind it back to 2020 when I first met them for their engagement session. Man was it a cold one, but they totally nailed their session and had so much fun. You can see their session here.
Their love story is the sweetest. Going back to their first date when Nat brought Aly some beer and offered to be his DD. Aly said she was a keeper lol.
Their plans for a wedding at venue with family and friends had to be rearranged with Covid restrictions. But the intimate backyard wedding at her Granny’s Bungalow in Toronto couldn’t have been more beautiful for them. Everything was planned to perfection. Detail shots and getting ready portraits were done at Granny’s first. Then we did first look and portraits at the beautiful Edwards Gardens and then back to Granny’s place for the ceremony.
Here’s how the day unfolded…
Natalie’s Dress was stunning…
So many beautiful moments are captured during a wedding. The nervousness, excitement, laughter, tears and of course love. All of this was made possible with the amazing vendors that joined us that day.
First look at Edwards Gardens with family and welcome to the family traditions
And the long awaited table decor…just stunning. Natalie and Aly hired Aspen Florist who absolutely nailed their vision and killed the execution with these simply gorgeous fresh florals.
And because I can’t get enough of these elegant Queen Protea, Ginger and greenery. Did you notice th Pineapple’s the florals were sitting in? So cute.
Granny’s backyard served as a perfect backdrop for Natalie and Aly. It also was very sentimental for the family as it was not the first wedding held there over the generations.
It rained. The heavens opened during the beginning of the ceremony, but it did not dampen the excitement and vows.
I just love the moments in between. I think
Sing it girl…lol
So many laughs and tears of happiness and adoration for these two humans. Fun fact…Nat and Aly shared their first dance as a married couple in the same spot her parents did many moons ago. Cool huh?
Thank you to Granny who made sure the wine was flowing endlessly…boy is she ever cute popping bottles ;)
Congratulations to the both of you. Your warmth, massive hearts, support and respect will keep your love flourishing for years to come.
A special thanks to all the vendors who made Natalie and Aly’s wedding day one to remember for the rest of their lives.
