Mother's Day 2022: Oshawa Motherhood Baby Portrait Studio Photographer

We have two annual events that we offer mini sessions for. Both are our favourites and celebrate the magic of motherhood and your family. This past Mother’s Day was one of them and it was nothing shy of awesome. Thank you to all the mama’s and littles who joined us. Our favourite partners joined us again this year. Aspen Florist created a stunning fresh floral scene for your Motherhood mini session. Our gorgeous mamas were also treated to Durham’s famous sugar cookies from Danielle Petrik Sweetery. Lucky for them to dine on the last of her baking for a while as we lost Danielle and her beautiful business to the Corporate world. We wish you all the best Danielle, we will certainly miss you! We also loved that Meredith from Makeup with Mer pampered our mamas too! They looked and felt gorgeous! Thanks once again Mer!

Okay…taking a moment to address these stunning blooms David Austin Wedding Roses, Dahlia’s and Ruscus for greenery. Aspen Florist you spoil us so ( but we LOVE it!)

Peach, coral, creams and soft pastels mixes with greenery was our colour palette this past year. A summer garden arbour was designed in studio and smelled heavenly. I am not going to lie, every mama who came in for their session let out a huge gasp when they saw the set. I am always in awe of the WOW factor she creates every single time.

I hear all too often from our clients that they wish they had portraits of themselves with their children. I am here to tell you not to wait. Just do it! The “right time” never really comes around and before you know it…the stage that you love about them RIGHT NOW, has passed.

You know the old saying, a shoemaker doesn’t have any nice shoes…well same goes for this photographer mama. Although I have photographs of my children, I wish that I had taken my own advice and jumped in front of the camera and been present more. Yes it was a different time, the digital age was JUST starting out and I was not a photographer back then.

Please do this for your future self. She will LOVE that you’ve done so.

A Breastfeeding Journey

When Camara asked if I would document a little of her journey as a new mom and what breastfeeding is for her I jumped at the opportunity. You may remember her from her Maternity Session here. For many new moms (myself included) it didn’t come easy or natural. It was anything but. Which is crazy, one of the most basic functions as a new mom can be so stressful and depressing.

Over the years I learned to heal. To be proud of myself that I tried and although it wasn’t what I thought it was going to be like, that my children were healthy and happy. It was ME that I had to work on.

That said, it is such a beautiful and momentous time for a mother. The bonding, connection, love, time spent in the fleeting moments of an infants life is one that is hard (at times) to put into words.

Our session was a collection of all things motherhood. I adore these images and memories we made together. They speak to my mama heart and fill my cup. I hope they do for you too!
