Oh sweet Karlyn..how you captured our hearts.
Oh Hi! Meet Karlyn. Her sweet mama brought her into the studio to celebrate her 1st Birthday and boy was it ever a fun one.
Can we just take a moment to adore this gorgeous custom cake from Sweetery.ca. W e have worked with Danielle (baker extraordinaire) for the last 4 years. She is our go to for all our PKP and Aspen Little Sessions.
All natural ingredients. Custom made to order so you know it’s FRESH and tastes absolutely DELICIOUS.
Karlyn couldn’t wait to dive into this beautiful pumpkin cake.
Girl means business I tell ya lol.
Cake smash sessions in the studio are fun. We almost always start with some classic portraits first. I do this for 2 reasons:
To document your little one and their personality, newly learned skills and silliness
2. So you and your family have gorgeous classic and timeless portraits to add to your baby albums and to hang down through the generations.
Then we get to business. Cake sessions are a fun way to celebrate. In my experience, they either love it and dive right in…like sweet Miss. Karlyn, or they don’t. Babies who aren’t quite in love with cake, don’t like their hands getting dirty and while adorable to capture our sessions are baby led. When they have had enough, we stop shooting.

A French Connection
Rewind to 2021 when my path crossed with the loving and very thoughtful Anne- Sophie. She had inquired about a maternity session all the way from Paris France! How cool is that? Her life long best friend lives in Toronto and she was expecting her first child. Anne-Sophie wanted to gift her with an experience she could cherish forever. But like all the previous 2020/2021 sessions before them we sadly had to postpone.
Introducing Nora…
Mum Helene and Dad Bob brought sweet Nora into the studio to celebrate a baby session instead. Nora was 3 months at this time and a total doll.
Sweet Nora oh how you are loved. As you can tell, she adored being held. She also loved a good conversation too. So sweet…
I fell in love with their dynamics, their excitement and how completely smitten they are with their daughter. Congratulations Helene and Bob, she is gorgeous!
Thank you Anne-Sophie for allowing them to come in and document this beautiful milestone together (even if it was delayed).
These memories they will have forever and pass down to Nora when she is older.

New Addition: Sigalas Family Glimpse
Would you look at these STUNNING David Austin Wedding Roses from Aspen Florist. Julianna reached out to the studio to book our David Austin Baby Package with Aspen Florist to celebrate the arrival of her 2nd daughter.
This sweet little lady joined the S. Family and busy, excited big sister. Mom and Dad named her to most sweetest old soul and sentimental name…Delilah Jaye.
Miss. Delilah…you are so loved. Your big sister is a ball of energy and can’t wait till you are old enough to run around and play. Until then, welcome to the family sweetie. Your Uncle Jaye would have adored you so.

Claire & Michael's Maternity Session
The first meeting I have with new clients when welcoming them into the studio is always an exciting one. One that is typically filled with a handshake or a warm hug. Although current days put a damper on that each client knows that it is a genuine excited warm welcome and that I am grateful to be celebrating with them.
LOL…enter Claire & Michael. I LOVED their connection, humour and silliness. They “claimed” to not know what they were doing when in front of the camera. I’ll let you be the judge….
And can we talk about this beautiful mama to be for a hot minute. Claire, you are stunning girl.

An Intimate Tropical Backyard Wedding
I have been dying to share this blog entry with you guys. Working away over here to get caught up from the backlog over the last 18-22 months. So a huge thank you to you guys and all our amazing vendors. I am thankful for your patience!
Natalie & Aly are married ya’ll!
Okay let’s rewind it back to 2020 when I first met them for their engagement session. Man was it a cold one, but they totally nailed their session and had so much fun. You can see their session here.
Their love story is the sweetest. Going back to their first date when Nat brought Aly some beer and offered to be his DD. Aly said she was a keeper lol.
Their plans for a wedding at venue with family and friends had to be rearranged with Covid restrictions. But the intimate backyard wedding at her Granny’s Bungalow in Toronto couldn’t have been more beautiful for them. Everything was planned to perfection. Detail shots and getting ready portraits were done at Granny’s first. Then we did first look and portraits at the beautiful Edwards Gardens and then back to Granny’s place for the ceremony.
Here’s how the day unfolded…
Natalie’s Dress was stunning…
So many beautiful moments are captured during a wedding. The nervousness, excitement, laughter, tears and of course love. All of this was made possible with the amazing vendors that joined us that day.
First look at Edwards Gardens with family and welcome to the family traditions
And the long awaited table decor…just stunning. Natalie and Aly hired Aspen Florist who absolutely nailed their vision and killed the execution with these simply gorgeous fresh florals.
And because I can’t get enough of these elegant Queen Protea, Ginger and greenery. Did you notice th Pineapple’s the florals were sitting in? So cute.
Granny’s backyard served as a perfect backdrop for Natalie and Aly. It also was very sentimental for the family as it was not the first wedding held there over the generations.
It rained. The heavens opened during the beginning of the ceremony, but it did not dampen the excitement and vows.
I just love the moments in between. I think

So many laughs and tears of happiness and adoration for these two humans. Fun fact…Nat and Aly shared their first dance as a married couple in the same spot her parents did many moons ago. Cool huh?
Thank you to Granny who made sure the wine was flowing endlessly…boy is she ever cute popping bottles ;)
Congratulations to the both of you. Your warmth, massive hearts, support and respect will keep your love flourishing for years to come.

Petra came with her own ideas but was also very open to our input. She made both my husband and I feel so very comfortable and she made both experiences stress-free and fun! For those of you who feel like you aren’t photogenic or feel like you are not “a natural” in front of the camera, all of those thoughts disappear when working with Petra!
On our Wedding Day, all of our guests commented on how wonderful Petra was- kind, professional and a master at her craft.

Baby Milestone- Leo
Meet Leo,
His stunning mama and dad came in to celebrate his arrival after we reopened from yet another province wide lockdown. A couple Maternity session was our initial booking. Since we couldn’t get that done we waited till Leo was a little bigger. Mom and dad are from Brazil and had planned to head south for 3 months to be with family. So we made sure to get a baby session in for them all prior to.
This little guy was so alert and cuddly. Loved hanging out with his mama but I could already tell that he was a daddy’s boy ;)
I mean…just look at that adorable gummy smile with Daddy. Soooo cute.
Thank you David, Livia and Leo for hanging out in the studio with me that day. I had an amazing time chatting with you and giggling at Leo’s amazing personality and expressions.
