Reflections of 2012
A Year in review. Yes it's been a busy year for us all and while it's hard to believe 2013 is just hours away, so much has happened for us all. New homes, new babies, milestones and some hardships too. What we must never forget is how Blessed we are. To live in a free country, to have food on the table and a roof over our head. Life has a way of throwing us a wrench at times but knowing we are strong and faithful, we bounce back.
I am thankful for each and every newborn,maternity and family session I was able to capture memories for this year has been nothing shy of amazing! Durham Region and Toronto parents, thank you SO much for choosing Petra King Photography. Can't wait for 2013!

Ajax Baby Bump: Maternity Session
Maternity sessions are beautiful! Every mom deserves some wonderful memories of this time in her life. So how should YOU prepare for your session? Well, maternity sessions in general I like to recommend scheduling them between 32 and 36 weeks. Often times, we have no control when our little one's will arrive, so it's usually best not to wait till the end when mom is tired and uncomfortable.
Your Preparation:
Maternity sessions are all about capturing your beauty during your pregnancy, and the miracle of the baby growing inside you. I want you to be relaxed and comfortable at all times. Make sure that this day is all about YOU! For this session we took advantage of Fall's natural beauty! Perfect temperature and gorgeous colors!
Your Clothing:
I like to suggest to my clients that when we do family maternity sessions or simply family sessions alone, try to think of dressing everyone as one outfit. Meaning, you compliment eachother. To be all tied together rather than everyone sporting a different style. Being relaxed in your own skin so to speak, makes for relaxed and natural images.
Your Session:
Don't forget to breathe and enjoy the moment. The little details that I will help capture for you is MY job. Posed or lifestyle, you are the center of attention. Be yourself, don't be afraid to laugh or cry at the drop of a hat. This precious time in your life goes by quickly. So forget the swollen ankles, tiredness and hormones. You are awesome! Look at you glow!
This session is especially close to home for me. Allow me to introduce to you my sister and her family! I am so excited to share these images with you all. We had a great time together. The kids were super excited and can't wait till baby arrives! Neither can I!

Sweet 6 month old baby: Durham Region Baby Photography
How time flies! I've had the pleasure of photographing this little one since she was still in her mummy's tummy! How I love watching her grow! My little clients are very dear to my heart and to be able to capture her during her milestone stages is such an honour! You may remember Miss. Madelyn's newborn session here, as well as her 3 month expressive session here! Look at how much she has grown! Here she is at 6 months! Holy cuteness!
These next few I adore. First time feeling grass between her toes!
