Fitting it in: Lifestyle Fitness Branding Shoot
Meet Denise!
This beautiful mother of 2 came to me last month to refresh some headshots needed so she could launch a new business. Denise is a busy Fitness Instructor and Nutritionalist and has created a new extension of her business that caters to our online community as well. Introducing Fit In The Now! An online Digital Magazine for Women’s Health & Wellness. Not only was I honoured to be a part of this awesome new venture for her, but it is something that resonated with me as well. We all do our part to stay active and healthy. More importantly I love seeing people succeed.
Portrait sessions with me are not simply a hired job. But rather, if it’s art and work that I am not passionate about …I spend my time on things that I do love! So to be asked to partake in this special and exciting shoot for Denise I couldn’t wait!
I know most of my clientele are women, either just starting their family or are in the throws of tantrums or teenagers.. Fit In The Now is a cool online resource that delivers content that is real, factual and no BS. Something that applies to everyone in a positive, no drama and motivating environment. We ALL need more of this right? So representing herself in this new leg of her business was meant to be real, honest and standing strong for what her passion is. From the workout at the gym, straight to the kitchen to meal prepping to the Editor in Chief of her new venture we wish you all the luck Denise.
P.S. Go give her a follow…she shares out healthy NON Keto receipes every week on Instagram (see below). You can also find them on her website. Delicious and gives you the nutritional breakdown too!
You can find her on Instagram over at @fitinthenow OR @deniseferreira.fit

Meet today's fun, little sassy client. I loved every minute of our session today with this beautiful little miss. Some sessions do not require any words. They speak volumes on their own. This is one of them :) Enjoy! Thanks for coming into the studio today D!
Update and Spotlight on Business: Online Marketing
Happy Family Day weekend everyone! I trust that you are all enjoying this gorgeous sunny day? I am sure just like all of you, the weekends are packed with "things to do" and places to go! For the lucky few who are chilling...enjoy! We often forget what down time really is. I for one am learning to take more of it. I feel so much more rejuvenated and happy because of it. We are all guilty of it especially when you are a small business owner. There has been a lot happening around Petra King Photography lately. Awesome things on the horizon and new partnerships have been made. I would first like to mention that I am VERY honored to have been featured on 2 fantastic websites. The Complete Baby & Toddler Directory is a local website that provides new parents and families with a SLEW of information. I recently blogged them in the Spotlight on Business Feature not that long ago. You can see it listed HERE. I am pleased to say that we are now listed on their website.
I was also approached by a new hip and cool website called Pictots. I was asked to be featured as the 1st Baby Photographer on Pictots Blog. Very cool and a huge thanks. GO check them out, a great resource for Newborn, Baby and Family Photographers all across North America! Tell them I sent you ;)
I also wanted to share with you a recent session I had with a beautiful business woman. Emily came to me inquiring about Headshots. After our consult and meeting face to face, we hit it off right away. Emily thank you. I love how down to earth and relaxed you were. If this wasn't the case I'd hate to be in a round of poker with you. LOL Great bluffer :D
Emily is a small business owner herself and offers Online Business Manager and Technical Virtual Assistant.
Here's a little bio and info on her business:
Pop on over or drop her an email to get in touch with her. I promise you won't be disappointed!
Have a wonderful day and enjoy your short week!
Interested in booking a session for you or someone you know. Feel free to contact me I'd love to hear from you!
Goodbye to 2011: Embracing 2012 together!
Well here we are, the last post of 2011. It certainly has been a BUSY but exciting year! I have met SO many wonderful new clients and to my repeat business I thank you for being loyal! You are all awesome. I have watched your families grow, expand and gone through so many highs and the lows with you too. There is so much in store for Petra King Photography in 2012! I am VERY excited and can't wait to share it all with you. However like everything else I do, it's a lot of hard work. But I love learning as I grow my business. I know that patience is key and that good things DO come to those who wait. YOU have all taught me that.
I look forward to sharing 2012 with you and want to wish you and your family a very Happy New Year!
God Bless and see you soon!

Earlier this week we put our best foot forward, LITERALLY! I am THRILLED to announce that I had the great pleasure of working with Alejandra of Kiddie Kobbler, Whitby. Durham Region,Ajax,Whitby,Oshawa,GTA Photographer: Clothing choices
Hey all, I hope that you are enjoying your summer so far? Hot enough for everyone? We certainly have had our share of hot and humid already! Certainly makes for fun in the sun though.
It's a topic that arises so often these days. "What should we wear?" Since it's been a while, I thought I'd post some ideas once again. Just remember, these are ideas only. How you envision your session to feel and look depends on what you bring to it. Not just material items too. The clothing choices you decide on, you need to be comfortable in. The aura that you emit while in front of the camera needs to emulate you and your personality. Love yourself and no matter what you wear you will be RADIANT in your images!
I've come across an awesome blog by another very talented photographer Karlen Kleinkopf. She offers wonderful aids for those in the "baffled stage" on what to wear to your session.
Check it out...
Need some more info? Check this earlier blog post found HERE.
Enjoy and look forward to our sessions together!
Thanks Karlen for the visuals!
