Liam's 1st Birthday_ OshawaBabyStudio_PetraKingPhotography
Its a whole lot of Birthday’s lately and we love welcoming back our littles to see how much they have grown.
Meet Liam! Mom and Dad came from Toronto for his newborn session which was the sweetest. Since then most of you know I have retired from Newborn Photography after 14 years in that niche. While I still love newborns I have made way for other areas in the business.
Thankful and grateful for all that has helped me grow into today and oh so blessed to get to celebrate little ones like Liam too!
Liam sure does love his beautiful mom. She was right down on the floor with him to encourage him in his new temporary surroundings. Often times I do have moms within arms reach for this reason. The second reason is so that I can step back and document those moments that you have hired me to do so ;)
Now with fair warning, not all sessions go as smooth as you intend them too. And this is OK! It’s completely normal. While we do try our best and are patient, some little ones just have a hard time adjusting to new spaces (especially since being cooped up in the house thanks to COVID)
So mom and I decided to crank his fav tunes and see how he reacted. The last 2 images are thanks to “Old Town Road”…
You are welcome lol. Enjoy!
Happy Birthday Buds…thank you so much for celebrating with some classic portraits! We LOVED seeing how much you have grown this past year!
Stay healthy and hope to see you in the near future.
Ramona's Milk Bath Session_ OshawaBabyPhotographer_PetraKing
Oh sweet Ramona! We have had so much fun photographing you over this past year. This Milk bath session was no exception. You know, when we plan for a Milk Bath session I often ask mom and dad what their vision is. Ramona’s session was planned out months ahead of time and included the ever talented Aspen Florist. Let me tell you…it was gorgeous!! I am always SO excited to work alongside some of our favourite local small businesses.
Making beautiful moments and celebrating in style and elegance is so much fun. Just look at how things turned out! I am sure you will agree…
All of our studio portrait sessions are an experience. It is not just about the photographs. It goes beyond celebrating this milestone for you and your family. It’s about how we make you feel during and long after, that accompanied with your gorgeous photographs is something pretty spectacular.
When working with our littles any new envoirnment is overwhelming for them. Just like you and I, no baby is the same. Some adapt right away, some cling to mama and some clearly let you know right from the beginning that they just don’t want to be there. This is why it’s so important for me to make baby (and of course mom) comfortable, safe and relaxed.
In doing so I always start with warming up to babe first. Then gradually move into our classic portraits (if the session is cake smash or milk bath) You can see here that this plan worked perfectly for Ramona ;)
Of course we stop for breaks too!
Helping hands…they say it takes a village right? Well mom and dad both kicking in to assist where needed. This my friends is and always what it’s about. Love, care, attention to detail and making memories at every stage of our session.
The image above was taken just 4 frames before the end of our session when she had enough. Little did we know she would have cut a molar later that day. Bless your heart Ramona, you were a trooper lol.
Till next time…

6 Months Old: OshawaBabyPhotographer_PetraKing
I have had the utmost pleasure of photographing Baby Ramona since she was a Newborn. She was one of my last newborns in studio before I retired from newborn photography. So to have had the honour of not only watching, but also documenting her growth this past year has been pretty incredible.
Lockdown was hard. Hard on our families, stress for months and then there was missing out on milestones of our PKP family too. When we had the all clear, we took our session outdoors. I can’t tell you how good it was to get back to shooting (masked and social distanced of course)
Mama reached out to have some 6 month photos of her earlier this summer and so we took her outside to do a vintage themed session that we both fell in love with.
Check out some of our session below.
Her moody, expression here just drew me in. The curiosity and innocence of babies at this age never fails. I love photographing them just being themselves. Often times these are the “million dollar shots” that mom and dad adore most.
I am a sucker for baby feet. Ramona had her little toes hanging out of the crib and dangling as she took in the hot summer morning and all the surroundings. Perfect photo op for me :)
Goodness I love this smile…
And of course the bluest of blues for her eyes…
Till next time Ramona!

Brand Ambassador Beckett- 6th Month Milestone
Beckett you are such an awesome natured little guy. You are always smiling, or inquisitive and so darn cute!
We love watching you grow and your Milestone Sessions have been so much fun! I can’t believe it has been 6 months already! Where has the time gone?
We scheduled Beckett’s 6 month session and had a lot of fun. While he’s working hard to sit up unassisted he’s still kinda wobbly. And this is pretty normal. As a matter of fact, on rare occasions so I encounter little ones who do at 6 months. Working that core is hard work ya know! LOL.
Regardless, we still had a ton of fun and boy does he ever have eyes for mama. It’s adorable! Check him out!
Here he is showing off his new skills and tricks…
Cutie right?…Wait till you see the loving's he has for his beautiful mama….
Till next time Beckett…keep on rocking’ little guy!
Schedule your baby’s milestone sessions today! Time for by fast and space fills quickly. Inquire on the details and what’s next HERE. I can’t wait to capture some footage and document your little squish with you!
See you soon!
