Fries and Frose Backyard Wedding Dream: Oshawa Bowmanville Wedding Petra King Photography
I am so freaking thankful and blessed to know this next wonderful woman I am about to share on the Blog. Little back story about Meredith and myself. I believe (correct me if I am wrong Mer) but I think we first met at a Networking Event about 7 years ago. Fast forward to running into one another at the odd gathering in our community and then carpooling together to a business event in the west end. And NOW we are so lucky to call one another business partners for every Maternity and Mama event in my studio.
I seriously couldn’t have searched for a more perfect fit for my brand and portrait studio. Thank you Meredith for being the quality, care and attention to detail that our moms deserve! Thank you for being so amazing and the beautiful, kind and down to earth woman we so love.
Now, the real reason why I am blogging this today is to share Meredith’s love story with you. Meredith and Ian’s go back about 10 years. Which is so freaking cool. They have been through a lot together, raised a beautiful family, pursued their careers, seen one another at their worst and yet all the while their commitment to each other never wavered. That my friends is very rare. It’s clear to see just how much they love one another especially when no words need to be spoken, just eye contact. The laughter, love and adoration is pure magic.
On a gorgeous August afternoon they said I Do with friends and family, Fries and Frose
I mean how COOL is that right? Check it out…
The sweetest ceremony was simple and emotional, under a pretty backyard gazebo right next to their pool was so picturesque for Mer & Ian. Only a handful of Bridal portraits were needed and Mer had picked out a spot that she knew would be a great setting for them. I loved her vision and everything came together so naturally. Wouldn’t you agree? Just look at this stunning family ;)
Here’s how the rest of the day went…
I can’t tell you how fun this was to document. I mean how often is it that you get to document your clients favourite things right from the comfort of their own backyard? I seriously didn’t want the evening to end. This one is going down in the books for the best food/drink truck wedding! Thank you so much for having me a part of this epic milestone for you all. Love ya both xo
Ian and Meredith…Wishing you years of more laughter, love and a whole lotta fun!
Special Thanks so Courtney from Bubble and Fizz Co, Katie Lynn Hair & Makeup and Gangster Cheese. All wedding details were planned and prepared by Meredith. Need an intimate fun event? Give her a call lol :)

An Intimate Tropical Backyard Wedding
I have been dying to share this blog entry with you guys. Working away over here to get caught up from the backlog over the last 18-22 months. So a huge thank you to you guys and all our amazing vendors. I am thankful for your patience!
Natalie & Aly are married ya’ll!
Okay let’s rewind it back to 2020 when I first met them for their engagement session. Man was it a cold one, but they totally nailed their session and had so much fun. You can see their session here.
Their love story is the sweetest. Going back to their first date when Nat brought Aly some beer and offered to be his DD. Aly said she was a keeper lol.
Their plans for a wedding at venue with family and friends had to be rearranged with Covid restrictions. But the intimate backyard wedding at her Granny’s Bungalow in Toronto couldn’t have been more beautiful for them. Everything was planned to perfection. Detail shots and getting ready portraits were done at Granny’s first. Then we did first look and portraits at the beautiful Edwards Gardens and then back to Granny’s place for the ceremony.
Here’s how the day unfolded…
Natalie’s Dress was stunning…
So many beautiful moments are captured during a wedding. The nervousness, excitement, laughter, tears and of course love. All of this was made possible with the amazing vendors that joined us that day.
First look at Edwards Gardens with family and welcome to the family traditions
And the long awaited table decor…just stunning. Natalie and Aly hired Aspen Florist who absolutely nailed their vision and killed the execution with these simply gorgeous fresh florals.
And because I can’t get enough of these elegant Queen Protea, Ginger and greenery. Did you notice th Pineapple’s the florals were sitting in? So cute.
Granny’s backyard served as a perfect backdrop for Natalie and Aly. It also was very sentimental for the family as it was not the first wedding held there over the generations.
It rained. The heavens opened during the beginning of the ceremony, but it did not dampen the excitement and vows.
I just love the moments in between. I think
Sing it girl…lol
So many laughs and tears of happiness and adoration for these two humans. Fun fact…Nat and Aly shared their first dance as a married couple in the same spot her parents did many moons ago. Cool huh?
Thank you to Granny who made sure the wine was flowing endlessly…boy is she ever cute popping bottles ;)
Congratulations to the both of you. Your warmth, massive hearts, support and respect will keep your love flourishing for years to come.
A special thanks to all the vendors who made Natalie and Aly’s wedding day one to remember for the rest of their lives.
