Ajax,Durham Region Photographer Petra King:: momstown.ca Whitby-Ajax
It has been a while since I've showcased a feature spotlight on business. I'd like to introduce a wonderful online community called momstown.ca We have our very own local chapter for Whitby and Ajax run by an awesome business mompreneur Nicole King. Here is some information about the community and some background information as well.

?
momstown.ca was founded in Burlington, Ontario by Christi Rasheed and Ann-Marie Burton in 2007. Nicole King became the momstown Whitby-Ajax licensee in July of 2010. Nicole is mom to Cadence (born in 2009) and is expecting her second in early-February 2011. Nicole was briefly a member of another chapter of momstown when her daughter was first born, and loved the concept... so decided to launch a momstown in her own community.
momstown began as a grassroots community initiative to help local moms connect and support each other. Odds are that when you were growing up your mom knew all of your neighbours. Your street was full of kids you knew and your mom invited the neighbourhood over to run through the sprinkler while the other moms had coffee and chatted. If a neighbour had a new baby, you were probably sent over with a hot casserole and the new mother would have been warmly welcomed into the folds of the other families. Although some social conventions have (sadly) changed, what hasn’t is the need to connect with other local mothers. It has always been said it takes a village to raise a child. We say it takes a town. Who resides in the town we fondly call momstown? Well, it’s moms like you.
momstown provides this connection with a calendar filled with over 25 events scheduled per months where moms can connect and get out of the house. momstown events give moms the opportunity to connect with their children on a variety of levels - education, creative play, music and more. However we also understand that even with the best of intentions moms can't always get out but still need to connect. momstown stays true to their mandate to connect and support moms via their newly revamped, dynamic website inclusive of message boards, tips and tricks from mom bloggers, and practical content. Then just for fun we throw in member discounts, a feature page and a monthly contest.
momstown understands that every mom has her own schedule and workload. Working moms, expectant moms, mat leave moms and stay at home moms alike can benefit from the momstown offerings and events. With weekday, evening and weekend events, there is something that can fit into even the most hectic of schedules.

Ajax,Durham Region Photographer Petra King:: romantic getaway
I don't even know where to start! I have just been whisked away by my awesome husband up north to a beautiful part of Ontario called Blue Mountain. We left home in the rain on Sunday and returned late Tuesday evening. A few hours north of Toronto into new territory for us. An area that we will for SURE be back to visit one day soon. We celebrated our 13th anniversary by relaxing, unwinding, swimming, eating and drinking and KIDLESS! LOL Don't get me wrong I love my children but man oh man every PARENT needs a break don't we? We spent some of our time at an awesome place called Le Scnadinave. WHOA...I am in love. Seriously! Six plunge spas, 3 hot and 3 cold. Temps range from 40.0 degrees C to 20 degrees C. An amazing Eucalyptus Steam room, mediation rooms and other saunas to choose from. So go check it out. I didn't want to leave!
No..no pics from our spa experience haaa..but here's a few from our Gondola ride up Blue Mountain and some of the Village at Blue!

Ajax,Whitby,Durham Region Baby,Children,Family Photographer Petra King :: Awesomeness
I met the most fantastic family today! I was very honored to be able to capture such precious moments of their children's lives and a sneak peak into their own love story! We had so much fun chatting, swapping stories and laughing at silly things. Thank you SO much Dave & Michelle. You both truly are beautiful people! Once again I am blessed and reminded of why I do what I do. To be able to relish in emotional connections, and share a passion for photography.
Check them out!
Love the 6 month old 6 pack...sooo cute!
New shades and an awesome look on life!

May God Bless you with many more sweet years of memories together!

Ajax,GTA,Keswick Newborn Photographer, Petra King :: Eyes wide shut
Kinda: Tuesday morning I took a road trip with all my gear up to Keswick! The session was for a 1 month old baby girl. Mom and I were super excited and so I quickly got to work. Our little girl however, had plans of her own! While it is easier to photograph newborns from day 4 up to 2 weeks, I knew that with my bag of tricks I'd be able to capture just how little she still was for her mom and dad. She sure put me to the test! BUT in the end she crashed out and gave in! Here are a few from yesterday morning. We even had some concerned help from our fur friend Ben! Thanks Buddy :D
Introducing Miss. Lily!
Baby Toes: awe...
A few outtakes...love the fist haaa.
Caught Ben sneaking in to see what the fuss was about!
Peaceful strawberry shortcake!
M thanks SO much and can't wait to work on your gallery. Have a great week!
