Love Squared Kids: Meet the Maker
Meet Durham Region’s Best Beanie maker Farah and her sweet family! Okay can we just take a hot minute and crush on these beautiful girls of her’s? I mean come on!!
Farah came into the studio over the holidays ( yes that is how far behind in blogging I am lol) and boy did we have fun! The girls came in with matching pj’s and sporting mom’s super cute, comfy and stylish beanies. So naturally I had some fun with these 2 silly sweet girls.
LOL at the images above. So let me break this scene down for you. Mom would love some beautiful portraits for home. Kids being kids..they are curious to see what was inside the prop Christmas presents.. Mom and Dad mortified they were trashing the set I laughed and winked at mom and said…let’s see where this goes.
Squeals and giggles, as the girls did their best to open the props. Check out those last 2 photos haaaa…the littlest one says “auntie” (me)…it’s empty! LOL we laughed so hard! But don’t worry, the session was pretty much done at this point and since these beauties were my last of 2018 I had a special little treat for them that they went home with.
Signing off 2018 with a tickle fest! They are the best right? (on someone else tho not me lol)
If you’d like to check out more of Farah’s work, you can visit her shop over at: Love Squared Kids or pop on over to her Instagram page! But hurry! She sells out Quick!
Much love,
P xo

So what did YOU do this past weekend? Get caught up with the family, running errands, housework and family time? Yup same here :) BUT I also spent some of my time with such a wonderful family in Whitby. You see we got connected via the wonderful new non profit foundation I am proud to be a memeber of: The Tiny Light Foundation.

Sunday morning I shared it with a sweet happy and adorable little boy named Liam. Here's Liam's story! (*used with permission)
"When we discovered in October of 2008 that we were expecting our 3rd baby, we never could have imagined what was in store for us. At 20 weeks pregnant, we learned Liam would be born with a cleft lip and palate. We were crushed! We didn't know then, but Liam had more surprised for us. By the time I gave birth, we had come to terms with Liam's cleft diagnosis and realized it was something that could be 'fixed'. On June 18, 2009 our third son Liam made his appearance into the world. When Liam was 5 weeks old we were told he had bilateral PHPV, a rare eye condition leaving him blind in both eyes. What seemed insurmountable a year and a half ago seems almost 'normal' to us now. I can't imagine my life any other way! Liam has taught us so much in such a short time. We truly see the world in a different, more positive way. It's been a difficult road, one which we never could have imagined we'd be taking, and I'm sure to many when I say we're so blessed it may seem strange - but we are! Dave and I have been together for 13 years and married for the past 8. We have 3 sons together Lukas, 6 years; Brady 5 years; Liam 18 months, as well as Dave's son Nathan, 16 years. We have our ups & downs, but really - don't we all! Liam truly is a 'tiny light' - he brightens the hearts of every person he meets! He's had 14 surgical procedures in just 18 months of life. He's a strong little boy and he fills me with a little more pride each and every day!"
Liam clearly stole the show yestarday morning. I knew our window of capturing some images of him in his home would be small, BUT as you can see he's such a sweet little guy and what a ham! I love it :)
He has 3 loving sweet older brothers and what a handsome bunch they are. Just look at those rockin' mohawks! Kristina,Dave thanks very much for welcoming me yestarday. It was a pleasure and a special thanks for the thoughtful gift you sent me home with Kristina. So sweet of you. Not needed but very gracious!
Looking forward to seeing you all again in spring/summer for a family session outdoors.
Here are a few images of your Tiny Light. What a ray of sunshine he is indeed!
Meet Liam.
Love this one..

Ajax, Durham Region, Maternity,Newborn Photographer:: connecting
I've been inspired to blog today about how photography connects us. In today's saturated media world we are bombarded with images. Thousands of images that we see daily. Images that we glance at but pay no attention to. Images that we don't really focus on. Then... there are images or photographs that draw us in. These photographs emmulate the way our mind freezes a significant moment.
Photography is powerful! It stirs an emotion in us that allows us to relive a moment, tells a story and connects us.
Being connected to a photograph be it someone you know, a stranger, a landscape, portriat or whatever meduim you desire, aids in telling a story that allows us to understand what life is all about.
All the challenges, the obstacles and the success that the world deals with daily are told in photographs. So I encourage you to get connected with some of your favorite images!
Get inspired and allow your emotions to connect you!

Ajax,Durham Region,Expecting,Newborn,Children,Family Photographer Petra King:: words
It's time, a little overdue but not forgotten just how much I love my clients. I know we hear it a lot these days, but honestly it can't be said enough. Finding the right words, the right phrase, quote or gesture to let our clients know just how much we love them. Just how much we appreciate their business, friendship, support and encouragement. At times, nothing can replace a hug, a warm embrace, a blush or an ear to ear grin. Even a tear of joy! All these emotions have been felt recently. All and SO much more. Pride, passion, strength, love and determination are what YOU bring to me.
I've said it once and will say it again...
I believe that photos play a very important role in our lives. They have a unique way of lasting much longer than our natural memories.
They also remind us of where we came from and usually bring with them warm fuzzy feelings inside. They keep us mindful of how really precious life is.
Technology today has taken George Eastman’s dream (Mr. Kodak) and kicked it up a huge notch. No longer do we have to wait months to have our photos processed and printed, results of a photo session are edited and retouched professionally and ready within 5-7 days. Digital photography makes this possible. Cameras have come a long way.
We just happen to have a keen eye and a good sense of timing to capture those precious moments that you’ll end up treasuring forever. Weather it be during a pregnancy, the first days or weeks of a newborn’s life or a photographic record of your family together, you might want to try us out. We’re good at what we do, you won’t be disappointed!
SIMPLE,PURE,FUN & REAL!
Life unscripted. YOUR life!
Thank you from the bottom of my heart! I look forward to working with you in 2011!
