I hear you want to have some photographs taken?  Well..choosing YOUR photographer is an important decision.  Regardless of whom you choose, here are a few things you may want to consider when going through your decision making process.

Every once in a while, I am asked why I do what I do?  Why I charge what I charge.  Let me explain a bit for you.

"I" believe that photos play a very important role in our lives.  They have a unique way of lasting much longer than our natural memories.

They also remind us of where we came from and usually bring with them warm fuzzy feelings inside. They keep us mindful of how really precious life is.

Technology today has taken George Eastman’s dream (Mr. Kodak) and kicked it up a huge notch.  No longer do we have to wait months to have our photos processed and printed, results of a photo session are edited and retouched professionally and ready within 5-7 days.  Digital photography makes this possible. Cameras have come a long way.

We  just happen to have a keen eye and a good sense of timing to capture those precious moments that you’ll end up treasuring forever. Weather it be during a pregnancy, the first days or weeks of a newborn’s life or a photographic record of your family together, you might want to try us out. We’re good at what we do, you won’t be disappointed!

SIMPLE,PURE & FUN!

One thing I do NOT do is take your images and run out to Walmart or other small bulk labs to process the artwork for you. A lot of time, work goes into processing my images.  I edit each and every photo by hand to make sure that they look their best.  I create custom work for you, for your family to cherish for years to come.

When you book a session with Petra King Photography, you are not investing in a chain superstore or studio, where often, you are rushed in an unfriendly , pushy enviornment.  I give each session the time needed to make sure  you are comfortable, relaxed and enjoying the experience.  I take the time to get to know you and your children. Not just as a photographer but as a friend.  These relationships have been the back bone of my success.

I have listed a link below about the pricing of custom photography.  I recommend that you take a few minutes to read up on them.  I am also attaching a few Before and After images that I have edited so you know exactly what you are paying for when you choose me as your photographer.  And yes, I have a "good camera"...but I also know how to use it.  ( An ongoing joke between my photographer friends)

Bellies and Babies Promotion:: Ajax, Durham Region Custom Photographer Petra King

 

I am very excited to be able to offer this wonderful promotion.  These sessions celebrate pregnancy,motherhood and new life.

Sessions that book will recieve a $300 print credit! Your choice of images, poses not restricted ( sizes are 8x10,5x7,4x6). Sessions must be booked before March 1st and can take place at any time until July 1st! Maternity sessions generally should be in the third trimester. Vic the Chef:: Ajax, Durham Region Spotlight on Business.

It's been  far too long since I've had one of these posts up.  I love helping to promote local business and talent.  Meet Vicky ( aka Vic the Chef).   I've known of of her awesome talent for years and love that she decided to follow her passion and open her own business to share her yummy creations and artwork with others.

Here's a bit about her and what she does:

Vik started her professional Culinary Apprenticeship at the age of 18. Working in 4 Star Hotels and Restaurant kitchens across Canada helped her achieve Red Seal Status at a very young age and move on to compete and receive several Awards and Gold Medals in Salon Cuisine Competitions. Working in all areas of the professional kitchen, she gained experience as Sous Chef , Restaurant Chef, and received training in Food Handling and Sanitation.

Pastry and Baking Arts were the next skills acquired, followed by European style Fondant techniques, Pure Chocolate Skills and delicate handmade Sugar Flowers. To improve her techniques in Sugar craft, Vik has traveled to study with other top Sugar Artists. She has been on course with: Kathy Scott, Toba Garrett, Diane Gruenberg, Norman Davis and Debbie Brown.

By accepting only a limited number of commissions, each cake is given her 100 % focus.

" I specialize in Wedding Cakes but over the years my past brides have started families and so I've been asked to create a line of unique cakes for children and babies. It's very flattering to have my brides return to me year after year for cakes for their own children and family events. My favorite part is the unusual and often challenging requests made by excited and highly imaginative children. They often require utilizing cutting edge techniques and so we strive to create "Extreme Cakes" that will be remembered for years. We absolutely love the challenge almost as much as making the kids ideas come to life in sugar.

Utilizing her 20 years of professional industry experience, Vik’s forté is custom designing and executing unique and delicious cake showpieces for your event. "Cakes are an important focal point of any celebration but we also offer edible favors that have become extremely popular with children's parties and wedding reception events." Many enviornmentally friendly Moms would rather send a loot bag of edible favors home for the kids rather than a handful of plastic toys. Ringing a new tune :: Ajax,Durham Region Photographer Petra King

Quite different from what my sessions are normally like, however when my neighbour and friend asked me to do some headshots for her how could I refuse?  Introducing Mrs. K.  She is Nashville bound come July for the American Nationals!  Heather plays English Handbells and requested some images with her "babies".   For the record, let me just say these bells are very pretty and sound amazing, not to mention heavy!  Wow..lol.
