Our connection

Hello hello!  It has been a beautiful hot summer morning here in Durham Region and I have been working on something that I wanted to share with you all.  Let`s call it a little bit more "about me". Anyone can pick up a camera, aim, focus and press shutter button right?  In our digital age, everyone is a photographer these days.  How hard can it be?  For me...photography is an art that comes in many forms and inspires me daily.  There are a million ways to take a photograph, however it is not just about a snapshot.  There is something that I need to create first.  It's all about building that connection. I'd like to consider myself someone that is easily approachable and social-able.  One who doesn't mind standing out in a crowd to talk and introduce herself and tell her story.  I love inspiring and helping others just because.  I have a big heart that way.  But this post isn't about me tooting my own horn so to speak. I want you to understand that I did not practice my craft and skill for years wanting to be on a pedestal.  That is not me. I LOVE what I do and want to share it out with all those who have the same values as I do.  Should I inspire a handful along the way...then thank you! ;) It makes it all worth while and pushes me to do more. To do more for you and for myself.

A huge part of what I do is "how I do things"  I first start off with a connection. Getting to know you better. Finding your needs and knowing exactly what I have to offer that will go above and beyond that. There is no magic formula, no step by step guide, or the latest downloadable app on how to.  Merely all I do is talk with you, during our pre-consult. Be it via phone calls, emails and even visits in studio so that I can really understand how unique you really are.  I learned early on in my business that every session is different.  The way I make each and every one of you feel is SO important.  Our relationship and friendship goes well beyond your photo session.  That is what makes me different.

Every session is different and I LOVE telling your story. However there are times that I ask you to bring to something to the session that is unique to you.  It can be as simple as a blanket, a onesie or a stuffed toy.  I love being able to curate these memories using a little piece of your family heritage, will last a lifetime.  These connections are important. How else do you expect to evoke and engage with your subjects if your heart really isn't in it to begin with?  When my clients trust in me, this is where the magic happens.  This is where THEY can be themselves and those natural belly laughs come out and hugs are given at the end of every session ( yes I am a hugger)  Just good old fashion getting to know you.  An open genuine interest in my clients and sharing some laughs in between. You have hired me for a reason. You are putting your trust in me to do an important job.  A job that I am very honored to do for you. Having fun and enjoying is all part of your experience.  However, how I make you feel from start to finish and beyond is what is really important

I am here for you. I am here for your children and I look forward to our journey together.

There is only one YOU!  People connect to the real you when you are honest, and share a bit of yourself with them.  This makes you relate-able and is SO important.  Be yourself and be genuine.

These are the simple fundamentals of my business. They deserve to be treated with a stellar experience and customer service that makes them feel welcomed and valued and important.  So don't be alarmed if I offer you homemade banana bread or cookies to go with yourrefrehments during your session :). So go on...whatever business you are in, curate an experience that will leave them "WOW'D" and I promise they will share their amazing time with all their friends and family.
